Dr. I.P. Singh is an Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Architecture at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur (HP) India with 26 years of teaching experience. His research work relates to the areas of Urban & Regional Planning & Eco – Tourism Planning. He has been felicitated with AWARD OF HONOUR for contribution towards Community Services in the Celebration of CSP – 50 by NIT, Hamirpur and a Best Teacher award in 2007 & 2015 by A3 foundation, Chandigarh. He has published nearly 40 peer reviewed publications in National and International journals; coordinated and organised numerous workshops and Short Term Courses at National Level for faclut& Professional and also organised STC for the Community under Community Development Programmes. He has carried out about 6 major Consultancy Projects about built environment and Landscape Design. He has organised as Chairman the International Conference on “Urbanism & Green Architecture” and Co-Chairman of Two days National Symposium on “Challenges of Planning and designing on Hills” jointly organized by IIA (Chd-PB & Himachal Chapter) & Department of Architecture at National Institute of Technology. He was invited at the International Workshop on “Port GioiaTauro, Vision 2030” held at Catanzaro, Italy on Dec 14, 2011 as Speaker and participated in round Table discussion and undertook the Teaching assignment for Erasmus Mundus Masters Course in reCity at Catanzaro, Italy. He has co- Authored a book on ‘Landscape Architecture: History, Ecology and Patterns’ and edited conference proceeding.
