An architect and environmental planner by training and a scholar working for a greener urban environment. After completing Bachelor in Architecture (with honours) from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal, in 1990 did masters in Environmental Planning from Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad in 1992. Completed Doctoral research on ‘Framework for Evaluating Livability Performance of Residential Built Environment- An Analytical Approach in Indian Context’ in 2014. Currently, faculty in Environmental Planning department of SPA Bhopal since May 2011. Has experience of working both in academics and industry in the field of Architecture and Planning for over two and a half decades. Industry experience includes both commercial as well as large scale residential projects including a number of upscale residential projects at Bahrain for a period of three years. In academics, research interest is primarily focused on: Climate informed environmental planning; Mainstreaming ecosystem services in spatial planning; Socio-ecological and climate change resilience; Green infrastructure; and Livability of the residential built environment. Worked as Principal Investigator of the consultancy project funded by Environmental Planning and Coordination Organization, Government of Madhya Pradesh, India for Climate Informed Environmental Planning of Smart Cities of Madhya Pradesh.Contributed as a team member in SPA Bhopal’s consultancy and research projects.Besides presenting papers in conferences at national and international level, contributed articles in Journals.
