Sandeep B. Menon is a practicing landscape architect. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture Degree and a Bachelor of Architecture Degree, both from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. He was the recipient of the SPA Gold Medal for the Best Student of Master of Landscape Architecture and the Narendra Juneja Gold Medal 2006 for the Best Landscape Thesis Project. Prior to moving to Mumbai, he was the Design Director at Integral Designs International Studio Pvt Ltd, a landscape architectural practice based in New Delhi. He has worked on landscape design and masterplanning projects of varying scales in various bio-geographies. His work often addresses the ideas of natural processes, local ecology and native planting. He has presented papers at both national and international venues. His co-authoured paper on developing greenways as multifunctional networks in urban areas was presented at the Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning 2013 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His ongoing research on the ecological significance of Kaavu (Sacred Groves) of Kerala was presented as a research paper at the International Federation of Landscape Architects Asia Pacific Region Conference at Bangkok in 2017. He was also engaged with academics as a visiting faculty member to the departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at SPA, Delhi. He has been a faculty expert for training courses on Landscape Design to the Central Public Works Department Training Institute, Govt. of India. He has also been a resource person and guide for architectural seminars, academic dissertations and design publications. His academic interests range from ecological urbanism, landscape ecology, sustainable urban water management, ecological corridors and wetland systems.
