Saurabh Tewari is a faculty at the departments of Design and Architecture, School of Planning and Architecture Bhopal. He is a Doctoral Candidate at the Design Programmer, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur for his ongoing thesis on Design History in India. After studying Architecture (B. Arch, 2003-08) at Sushant School of Art and Architecture, Gurgaon and Communication Design (M. Des, 2008-10) at IDC, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, he has been teaching courses in basic design, graphics, and architectural and design history. He is one of the co-initiators of the Master of Design programme at SPA Bhopal with an integral focus on Socio-Cultural Design. Saurabh has published research papers and articles on design, design history, sustainability, and urbanism and presented at various academic conferences around the world. He has co-edited India's first publication on the emerging field of Landscape Urbanism, Blue Lines of Kolkata (2017). He has been a recipient of various research/travel fellowship and awards from various institutions including the Columbia University, DST India, UNESCO/UNEP/BMU TU Dresden, DRONAH Gurgaon, Design History Society UK, Society of Architectural Historians USA, EPCO MP Govt., IDC-IIT Bombay and most recently, CAA-Getty Foundation. Saurabh’s research interest lies in the intersection of design, history and sustainability.The BReUCom project is an interdisciplinary opportunity to experience the larger interactions of the designed world in multiple scales and systems.
