Water is an invaluable resource in the context of Indian cities and the evergrowing demand for tap water is everincreasing. On the other hand traditional water bodies and systems are thoroughly neglected whereby they become sites for disuse and disposal.
The course looks at historic cities and how they managed their need for water sustainence both in supply and disposal through comparative case studies. Vulnerabilty of both the cities as well as these systems is understood and how the same can be sensitively addressed by empowering officials, communities and institutions.
